University Hospital Cleveland, OH
We provided birdseye maple, plain-sawn maple and cherry solids, and plain-sliced cherry veneer in lieu of mahogany and avodire to help reduce depletion of rain forest resources. The project also included stained glass in privacy seating partitions, adding an unsurpassed element of warmth and comfort to the reception area. That comforting environment extends into patient waiting areas on all floors, and into nurse stations where expanded use of maple and cherry was incorporated. The warmth flows into patient care rooms, where maple was used for paneled head walls and wardrobe units.
