Milwaukee, Wis. - based Glenn Rieder, Inc. (GRI) will be honored Monday, March 8, 2010 at the Greater Milwaukee Committee Inner City Business Awards luncheon at the Pfister Hotel. The Inner City Business Awards salute local businesses making strides in their quest for growth, expansion and prosperity in Milwaukee’s inner city.
Brenna Holly, Executive Director of the 30 the Street Industrial Corridor Corporation (The Corridor), nominated GRI and its owners Michael J. Floyd and James A. Caragher for the award. “Glenn Rieder is truly one of The Corridor’s gems,” according to Holly. “Not only are they doing amazing work at the corner of 35th & Capitol, but their leadership and staff have also been supportive of our organization and other community groups working to revitalize the area. We look forward to seeing Glenn Rieder continue to grow and prosper in the 30th Street Industrial Corridor.” Michael Floyd serves as a member of the executive committee of The Corridor, a nonprofit organization dedicated to restoring and maintaining the economic vitality of the 30th Street Industrial Corridor which includes the area bordered by Hampton Avenue on the north, Highland Boulevard on the south, 35th Street on the west and 27th Street on the east.
Since 1946, GRI has fabricated millwork and specialty items at its production facility in Milwaukee where it employs over 100 skilled craftsmen, engineers and administrative personnel.
