Glenn Rieder grows by leaps and bounds                                                   Published January 9, 2012 - Manufacturing Weekly, Biz Times

From building and installing the paneling for the new Marquette University Law School to engineering custom casino bars and interiors, Milwaukee manufacturer Glenn Rieder has seen its share of recent success.
Owners James Caragher and Michael Floyd purchased the company in 2000 and have more than tripled its revenue, to $30 million. There are also four times as many employees, with 125 today.
“The company had a great reputation,” Floyd said. “There was room for growth, and frankly we exploited that. ”The architectural millwork and custom interior finish company has grown from a small woodworking shop founded in 1946 to a national company with a 100,000-square-foot Milwaukee facility and a second manufacturing facility in Las Vegas. “We’re a national subcontractor,” Floyd said. “We’ve done a lot of work in Las Vegas, where a lot of casinos are.”
For many projects, Glenn Rieder makes wood or wood-like products, but also constructs the finished design with glass, metal, or other requested materials. Woodworking, cabinetry, staining, veneering and many other processes go into crafting Glenn’s custom products. With a healthy backlog of work ahead, Caragher and Floyd plan to expand the company’s workforce in the early second quarter.
